Discover the breath-led, wave-like movement that became both my healing practice and my way of life. The Oceanflow Method began as my own return to fluidity and has become a guiding force for how I teach, move, and live.
Before there was Salted Roots, before the retreats and before the book began taking shape, there was me standing at the back of a yoga room, unsure, stiff, disconnected from my own breath.
I had always thought my body was simply built a certain way. That my wide rib cage was permanent, that my breath was shallow because that is just how it had always been. But then came the moment that changed everything. The moment I realized my breath was not just air. It was medicine.
Through the deep diaphragm breathing of yoga, I began to understand the mechanics of my body in ways I never had before. The intercostal muscles between my ribs, which I had never once considered, began to open. They drew the rib cage inward, reshaping my frame, yes, but more importantly, reshaping the way I existed in my own skin.
Around this time, I came across the book Blue Mind by Wallace J. Nichols, which explores the healing effects of water on the human brain and body. It put words to what I had always felt, that water, in its vastness and its rhythm, holds a quiet medicine. That knowing became a catalyst for what would eventually be called The Oceanflow Method.
The breath was my teacher before I had the words to describe it. It became the ink in the pen of my movement, the current that carried me from one shape to the next. Breath and body together created a rhythm.
And that rhythm did not just stay on the mat. The more I moved with breath, fluidly, without rigidity, the more my life began to soften and flow. I began to see transitions not as obstacles but as invitations. The stuck places inside me began to loosen. And like the tides that reshape a shoreline, my inner landscape began to change.
Bruce Lee said, Be like water, my friend. And I found that when I moved like water, I healed.
On my mat, I began to explore the space between poses, the way a wave rolls from one form into another without breaking its rhythm. Creative transitions became poetry in motion, the unspoken language my body used to say what my voice could not.
I realized this was not just a style of yoga. It was a healing modality.
The Oceanflow Method is the embodiment of that discovery: breath-led, wave-like movement that invites you to move with the tide of your own life.
The fluidity we invite into our bodies does not end when we step off the mat. It ripples outward. It shows up in the way we speak, the way we adapt to change, the way we meet challenges with grace instead of rigidity.
When we move like water, we learn to trust the current. We learn that flow is not something we chase, it is something we allow.
Salted Roots was born from that same truth. It is a reminder that no matter how anchored you feel in one place, there is always a current within you, ready to carry you toward what is next.
This is The Oceanflow Method.
It is breath as your guide.
It is movement as your language.
It is water as your teacher.
And it is the way I continue to come home to myself, again and again.
